Services offered by the UCK Investments team
UCK Investments consist of a team of highly qualified and experienced personnel in the upper level of planning and management including highly specialized veterinarians and a techno-economist. Together they have a combined experience of more than 100 years!
Some of the services we offer are:
Export
We specialise in the export of livestock, especially dairy and beef cattle. However we also export goats, a variety of game and other agricultural goods such as alfalfa. We've even been involved in a shipment of Rooibos tea to Europe. Nothing is impossible for our team.
Game translocation
Higly trained specialists with a background in veternarian training are involved with projects where game needs to be translocated. That includes the capture of the animals; using correct procedure to sedate the animals and the proper treatment of the animals during transit to ensure they arrive safely at the destination. Various buffalo, girrafes and buck species such as oryx and kudu have been transported successfully on multiple projects. We can also relocate large predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah (to name a few) and other herbivores such as rhino and hippopotamus.
Animal sourcing
It is our highest priority when planning an export project to source animals of the best quality. This includes animals that are not only genetically strong and pure, but also very healthy. We keep the animals quarantined for a required period to test them according to health standards. All animals are vaccinated by a qualified veterinarian with standardised medications.
We ensure dairy cattle are certified as negative of Tuberculosis and Brucellosis (Malta fever) before they are sourced.
All this is done to ensure the animals are disease-free before they are exported.
vaccination
We vaccinate all animals against threatening diseases of the destined country of export of livestock. Some of the most common diseases animals are vaccinated against are anthrax, botulism and black quarter.
immunisation
All animals destined for export can also be immunised on request by the client against heartwater, redwater (babesiosis) and tick-borne gallsickness (anaplasmosis).
dipping
Animals destined for export or import projects are also dipped and dosed against ticks and external and internal parasites.
pregnancy certification
We also offer rectal examinations of animals for optimal reproduction and pregnancy certification.
Agricultural key turn projects
We offer creative agricultural project planning and development services.
We also provide agricultural strategic planning and risk analysis for your business.
logistics planning
UCK Investments are detail-orientated and therefor it is important to us to be involved with the project from start to finish. We source the animals for export, host them during quarantine and test all animals to ensure they are disease free. We are also involved in planning the logistics of the export task. This involves all transport organisation, from truck to airplane. A qualified veternarian travel with the animals at all times to safeguard the health and wellbeing of the animals during transit.
Erosion and disease prevention
It is important to us to ensure the standard of agriculture in South Africa is of high regard. Therefore we are also frequently involved with erosion prevention projects. Fertile soil yields better feed, better feed provides better quality livestock. We are also involved in projects to assist the prevention of notorious livestock diseases.
agricultural training
We host various training workshops and information seminars. Specialist courses and relevant training are designed to meet specific client needs. Standard areas of services are: dairy, beef and feedlot management training, technology in sustained production of high quality milk and meat and vaccination programmes for livestock. We will also developed training for specific needs not listed above.
